And I believe that if we wiped out the debts of the average American rather than the corporations, the people would definitely invest that money back into the economy. Stimulating tax revenues at that. Let the big businesses fail and let the small businesses grow to take their place. The American dream can be alive and well again. But I haven't dotted the "I" and crossed the "T'" so I don't know if it would work. We also don't know if the bailout would work. The corporations could take our jobs overseas. Actually what is interesting in your modest proposal is the huge effect that sum would have on the run of the mill person, and the absolutely negligible effect it would have on the wealthy class. It really demonstrates how far out of balance the wealth distribution in America is. Even in the starving-est parts of the world the gap between rich and poor is not as large or as empty.
