How can i rent an apartment without having a source of income?

I am a college student, and I was thinking that renting an apartment would be cheaper, than staying in a dorm.
I’ve reviewed my finances and I have enough for 3 months rent up front.
So is there anyway?

I know plenty of people have rented apartments instead of living in dorms. They had their parent’s to co-sign for them

All of these methods are possibilities, although they are all also long shots:
1. If you have student loans and/or other financial aid that covers’s housing, you can show proof of it which would be the same thing as having an income.
2. Get someone like your parents to co-sign for you.
3. Get your parents to write a letter stating that they will be paying the rent. usually if this is the case the landlord would want them to just co-sign, but you might get lucky and find some landlord who would accept the letter.
4. Get roommates who can qualify.
5. Get lucky and find a landlord who doesn’t ask for income verification. These are few and far between but they are out there.
6. Get a job, get qualified for the lease, then quit your job if you don’t want it.

Yes, if your loans cover it, you can take your dorm money for an apt!

Yeah…but what are you going to do for month 3?
3 months rent would probably cover 1st, 2nd and security only.
Don’t forget utilities…

yeah but they wont let u get an appartment unless you have a job or like a huge amount of money in ur account like for example me i had $75,000 in my account but still didn have a good credit so i had to get a co signer

I think you’d have to talk to the local apartment management about this as well as your parents (or any other potential payers or co-signers). If you have a feasible way to come up with the money after month three, you can probably work something out. If however you don’t, apartment owners tend not to like to let people move in for just three months and then leave. And if you do not know that you have a way to come up with the money after month three, you probably don’t want to plan to stay longer than that anyway.

You can’t, since most landlords prefer that you are employed, and if they did rent to you, your parents would probably have to sign as a co-signer, and trying to find a landlord to do that will be difficult.
You technically have enough for two months of rent, since you have to place a security deposit, that is normally equal to one month’s rent down when you rent a place, and depending on where you live you also have to pay for utilities such as electric/gas/water and if you want cable, and internet, that costs a bit more.
You also have to furnish the place, and buy all kitchen stuff..
Its not cheap moving out of the dorms, into an apartment.

Contrary to others have posted…no private landlord will rent to you without a job or a verifiable co-signer.
