Here’s a real economic stimulus plan!?
Don’t know who came up with it….But I like IT!
I’m against the ,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I’m in favor of giving ,000,000,000 to America in a
We Deserve It Dividend .
To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,000,000
U.S. Citizens 18+.
Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman
and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..
So divide 200 million adults 18+ into billon that equals 5,000.00.
My plan is to give 5,000 to every person 18+ as a
We Deserve It Dividend .
Of course, it would NOT be tax free.
So let’s assume a tax rate of 30%.
Every individual 18+ has to pay 7,500.00 in taxes.
That sends ,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.
But it means that every adult 18+ has 7,500.00 in their pocket.
A husband and wife has 5,000.00.
What would you do with 7,500.00 to 5,000.00 in your family?
Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans – what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college – it’ll be there
Save in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car – create jobs
Invest in the market – capital drives growth
Pay for your parent’s medical insurance – health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean – or else
Remember this is for every adult US Citizen 18 + including the folks
who lost their jobs at Lehmann Brothers and every other company
that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.
If we’re going to re-distribute wealth let’s really do it…instead of trickling out
a puny 00.00 ( "vote buy" ) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President.
If we’re going to do an billion bailout, let’s bail out every adult US Citizen 18+!
As for AIG – liquidate it.
Sell off its parts.
Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate.
Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
Here’s my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn’t.
Sure it’s a crazy idea that can "never work."
But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party !
How do you spell Economic Boom?
I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the Billion
We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC .
And remember, This plan only really costs .5 Billion because .5 Billion is returned
instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.
PS: Feel free to pass this along to your pals as it’s either good for a laugh
or a tear or a very sobering thought on how to best use Billion!!

minor flaw
it;s not "$425,000"
it;s "$425"
you people are innumerate
numerically illiterate
whoever did this doesn;t know the difference between a billion and a trillion
[clue: there is a difference, a BIG one]
wle.

if you do the math right thats $425.00, not 425,000.00

I totally agree, why not help the people?
Oh wait that would make way too much sense for our government officials with their huge bank accounts to understand.
So if my investments or business goes down the toilet can I count on the government and the tax payers to help bail me out in the future too? I doubt it.

Wow, all of that from a simple lack of ability to do math. Its 425 not 425,000. Not to mention that that is not even close to correct about how many adults are in the US. Children do not make up 33% of your population…more like 23%.
Well…it is good for a laugh.
Not to mention that if you did flood the market with that amount of money the currency would be devalued horribly. You would be lucky if a thousand dollars bought you a sandwich.

economic stimulus packages make little, if any sense. just imagine what you are telling our government to do. you are saying that they should borrow foreign money, then give that money to people (for doing absolutely nothing), THEN have those people pay it back in the future with interest.
what you are suggesting is slightly different, however. you want the government to raise taxes on its citizens and redistribute the money that was collected evenly among its citizens. THAT, my friend, is communism. no thanks.
